Google Maps also shows wheelchair-friendly routes and provides information about wheelchair accessibility of locations. The option is currently available in a limited number of cities, but more locations are added gradually.

To map out (wheelchair-friendly) routes, follow these steps:

  • Find a destination through the search bar at the top of the screen;
  • Click the 'Route' button and fill in a starting point or keep 'My location' filled in;
  • Choose the mode of transport you want by clicking on the appropriate icon;

For wheelchair-friendly routes:

  • Click on the three dots at the top right of the screen;
  • Click 'Route Options';
  • Click 'Wheelchair accessible'.
